The London Wetland Centre
Just 4 miles from central London, The London Wetland Centre is an international award winning wildlife visitor attraction. Over 105 acres of beautiful lakes, reedbeds and marshes attract thousands of wild birds each year while daily events and activities make for a great day out.
The centre is an important nesting site for London rarities such as Sand Martin and Little Ringed Plover and in 2006 a pair of Avocet bred for the first time. In winter a variety of wildfowl feed on the lakes and the occasional Bittern can be spotted in the reeds.
The visitor centre includes a restaurant, gift shop, viewing observatory and children's Discovery Centre. A wetland themed adventure Area - Explore, inspires the next generation of wildlife watchers
