Urban Birding
Urban Birding
The great thing about Urban Birding is that it can be done anywhere and any time, whether you’ve got the day to spare, an hour before work or just a half hour lunch break. In most cities like London, Paris and New York you are never too far away from a green “space” which can often act as natural havens for great urban birds.
Aside from the public parks and water courses, look out for birds in less obvious places. In some cities magnificent Peregrines can sometimes be seen circling skyscrapers in the city centres where they often nest; Swifts punctuate the sky and Gulls have taken to foraging in the streets.
The world’s a big place and there are so many areas to go urban birding. On this website I will periodically feature a new city, delving into its birding delights.
